Instant noodles

If you are going to have meeting within several minutes and you feel extremely hungry, what do you want to eat? Something tastes delicious and healthy as it is low fat and low sodium. There are many flavours such as curry, seafood, beef, chicken and spicy, for you to choose. It is convenient for you to buy anywhere. Don’t miss it! Try the ABC instant noodles now!!

Re: Directions to the Ferry Pier

Hi Patricia

Here are your directions with corrections in red.

Here are the directions for how to go to the ferry terminal from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. Take exit C1 and go up to the street level. At the exit go straight, past two blocks. At the end of the road, turn right. At the end of this block, you will see a subway for crossing the road. Go down into the subway and then go up at the end of it to the other side of the road. At the street level, turn left and go straight. Make sure that you are going in the same direction as you were before crossing the road. After two zebra crossings and another two blocks, you will find the ferry terminal on your left hand side.

Directions

Here is the example of giving directions that we did in class.

Here are the directions for how to get to my office. It’s quite complicated but you should be ok! First catch the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui. Don’t take the first exit from the station; instead stay in the subway until exit H8 and then go up to the street level. At the exit turn right and then take the first left. You will see an alley between two buildings. Walk down that until the end. At the end you will get to a lane where there are often illegally parked cars blocking the narrow road. You might see a traffic warden there! Next you will come out on to a main road which you have to cross over. There is a zebra crossing, but the pedestrian traffic lights are very slow, so it is probably quicker to go up over the footbridge. Rather than going down on the other side, you might as well stay on the walkway as it is more convenient than going down to the pavement again. Continue on it until you get to my building which it enters on the first floor. Take the lift to the sixth floor. My office is on the left when you come out of the lift.

Write your own directions in a new post.

Welcome to the Writing at Work Level 6 Blog

Dear Writing at Work level 6 Students

I have created this blog for this class.

The purpose of the blog is to give you greater opportunities to practise your English, and also create a semi permanent place for your English writing.

There are several ways that you can use the blog.

  1. You can become a contributor to the blog. This way you can make your own postings. To do this you need to give me your email address so that I can send you an invite by email. When you receive the invite you need to accept. After accepting, if you do not have a Blogger account, you can create one for free in less than a minute.
  2. You can create your own blog. Again it is quite easy. Just go to blogger and create one. Then send me the address and I can link to it from this blog.
  3. You can read and comment on other student’s work. By reading others’ work, you can also improve your own writing. Don’t forget to leave a comment saying what was good or what could be improved about the post.

If you have any questions please ask!
